Camping on the beach.

1. Teacapán – ONAC RV Park 

* Location: On the beach in Teacapán. Unfortunately this is a one-way of approx. 40km
* GPS: 22.61243 N, 105.79139 W
* Facilities: Nice and clean place. No shade. You can also rent small houses but it’s not cheap. Also has a nice but cold swimming pool
* Water / Electricity: yes/yes
* Bathroom and Shower: Nice, clean and hot water shower
* Price per night: Don’t remember but was not cheap
* Overall: NICE but expensive!

2. Tepic – Los Pinos RV Park 

* Location: On grassy field behind a small shopping center in Tepic
* GPS: 21.48169 N, 104.89250 W
* Facilities: Nice and clean place. Lots of shade.
* Water / Electricity: yes/yes
* Bathroom and Shower: Nice, clean and hot water shower
* Price per night: 150 Pesos
* Overall: NICE!





Zelt Icon3. Guadalajara – San Jose del Tajo Trailer Park

* Location: From Guadalajara to Colima, pass Walmart, take the next right. Don’t drive over the overpass! Drive on cobblestone for approx. 1 km
* GPS: ?
* Facilities: Very old. Not clean and not looked after. There is a swimming pool but very dirty.
* Water / Electricity: yes / yes
* Bathroom and Shower: not clean at all. We did not test the shower.
* Price per night: we did not pay cause nobody was in the office. not in the evening when we arrived neither in the morning when we left.
* Overall: NOT NICE!

4. Guanajuato – Morrill Trailer Park

* Location: In town up a steep hill. Overlooking the city.
* GPS: 21.02472 N, 101.25250 W
* Facilities: Just a parking place between other cars. not THAT nice but OK
* Water / Electricity: yes/no
* Bathroom and Shower: OK but not really clean. We did not test the showers.
* Price per night: 160 Pesos
* Overall: OKAY

5. San Miguel de Allende – San Miguel RV Park and Tennis Court

* Location: Within walking distance to town
* GPS: 20.90767 N, 100.74918 W
* Facilities: Nice place, not too big. Has Tennis Courts, too.
* Water / Electricity: yes/ yes
* Bathroom and Shower: Very nice and clean! Hot water showers.
* Price per night: 270 Pesos
* Overall: NICE but expensive!

6. Tequisquiapan – El Oasis

* Location: It’s a huge grassy field of a big swimming pool
* GPS: 20.60883 N, 99.91333 W
* Facilities: nice grassy field
* Water / Electricity: no/ no
* Bathroom and Shower: Okay but not too clean. We did not test the showers
* Price per night: 100 Pesos
* Overall: OKAY-NICE

7. Puebla/ Cholula – Trailer Park Las Americas

* Location: Parking on grass in the lower level or on parking lot on the upper level
* GPS: 19.07242 N, 98.29568 W
* Facilities: Okay but not really taken care of
* Water / Electricity: yes/ no
* Bathroom and Shower: Okay, but really clean. Showers are supposed to be hot but were cold.
* Price per night: 200 Pesos
* Overall: OKAY

8. Oaxaca/ Santa Maria del Tule – Overlander Oasis

* Location: located in a nice little town not touristy
* GPS: 17°02.691 N, 096°38.400 W
* Facilities: nice and clean
* Water / Electricity: yes/ yes
* Bathroom and Shower: Nice, clean and a hot water shower. Only one toilet which can be „a problem“ if lots of campers are here.
* Price per night: 200 w/o electricity. 250 w electricity. Weekly rate: 1.000 w/o electricity. 1.250 w electricity;
* Overall: NICE

9. Tehuantepec – no Camping possibilities

* We stayed in a Hotel: Santa Cruz. It was nice and clean enough. Also our dog was allowed. Unfortunately the hot water shower was defect and we had a cold shower.

10. Tuxtla Gutierrez – La Hacienda Hotel Trailer Park

* Location: In town on the parking lot of the hotel in a little „jungle“
* GPS: 16.75560 N, 93.14223 W
* Facilities: nice and clean parking area
* Water / Electricity: yes/ yes
* Bathroom and Shower: nice, clean and hot water shower
* Price per night: 200 Pesos
* Overall: NICE

11. San Cristóbal de las Casas – Rancho San Nicolás

* Location: Outside town but in walking distance to town on a huge grassy field
* GPS: 16.73417 N, 92.62167 W
* Facilities: nice and clean. You can also rent cabanas which is not much more than the camping costs.
* Water / Electricity: yes/ yes
* Bathroom and Shower: nice, clean. hot water shower works for only 2 minutes
* Price per night: 180 Pesos (90 per Person)
* Overall: NICE

12. Palenque – Hotel Nututun 

* Location: Approx. 3 km before town if coming from San Cristobal
* GPS: 17.48417 N, 91.97444 W
* Facilities: clean parking area but that’s it
* Water / Electricity: no/no
* Bathroom and Shower: You have to use the swimming pool restroom which is „far away“ and you walk through a muddy path. Shower is cold. Restroom ist old but more or less clean
* Price per night: 195 Pesos
* Overall: NOT NICE and too expensive for just „parking“

13. Escárcega – Centro Conservación de la Vida Silvestre

* Location: Approx. 4km outside of town if coming from Palenque and going to Chetumal
* GPS: 18.60227 N, 90.70304 W
* Facilities: grassy paddock, a little dirty because horses are there, too. Access road is a short dirt road until you reach a gate – just open it and drive on the meadow. Somebody will come and collect money
* Water / Electricity: no/ no
* Bathroom and Shower: shower is „interesting“ not more than a booth. Toilets ok, could be cleaner
* Price per night: 150 Pesos
* Overall: OKAY

14. Bacalar – Laguna Azul

* Location: Approx. 35 km out of Bacalar, coming from Escarcega and going to Tulum. Camp is „in the jungle“. The access road is a bumpy dirt road
* GPS: 18.92472 N, 88.16611 W
* Facilities: nice camping location, kayak rental, cabana rental, restaurant, lagoon
* Water / Electricity: yes/yes
* Bathroom and Shower:nice and clean
* Price per night: 150 Pesos (75 per Person)
* Overall: NICE

15. Tulum  – El Ultimo Maya

* Location: On the „Hotel street“ drive to Sian Ka’an Nature Reserve. After approx. 1km the camp is on the left side. The access road is very! bumpy
* GPS:?
* Facilities: restaurant, lovely beach! camping on the sand with lots of palm trees
* Water / Electricity: no/no
* Bathroom and Shower: nice and clean. shower is cold
* Price per night: 300 Pesos (150 per Person)
* Overall: NICE but unfortunately no electricity and expensive

16. Paa Mul  – Paa Mul Park and Cabanas

* Location: Just 20 km south of Playa del Carmen
* GPS: 20.52638 N, 87.19701 W
* Facilities: Swimming pool, Restaurant, Beach (no dogs allowed), a lot of Americans and Canadians build a „house“ around their camper and live here.
* Water / Electricity: yes/yes
* Bathroom and Shower: nice and clean. Hot water shower (looks old but works fine)
* Price per night: 300 Pesos (15o per Person)
* Overall: NICEZelt IconFor those who want to travel to Mexico and search for Campgrounds or for those who are just interested on where we spent our nights….
